Tommy Doggett

Never restricted by a particular genre, Tommy Doggett’s diverse musical palette stems from his collaboration with rock musicians, performing in art installations, composing for stage + film, debuting orchestral + chamber music + of course, his love of pop, soul, + jazz. In 2015, he was inducted into the Iowa Rock + Roll Hall of Fame with the band Freestyle. He was recognized for his project Two Turntables + a Saxophone by a ASCAPlus Award in 2006 + 2007. In 2023, "Tommy Doggett released his family-inspired instrumental album Lines + Lineage which reveals not only the depth of his artistry, but also his deep appreciation for where he comes from. Tommy has worked with a number of Iowa artists including Corey Taylor, M. Shawn Crahan, Courtney Krause, English, Gustav Art, Patresa Hartman, BYOBrass, Run Wilson, One Nite Stand, Cleo’s Apartment, the Monday Night Live House Band, + Faculty Lounge. In Ohio and Kentucky, Tommy worked with Charles Savage, Gary Ruschman, Boom Boom Horshack, 4-Track All-Stars, South Eastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra, Noel Quintana + the Latin Jazz Crew, Voodoo Groove + the Northern Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tommy is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University (B.M.) + Kent State University (M.M.). Tommy’s success is linked to his two primary teachers: Greg Banaszak (international soloist) + Bob Reynolds (John Mayer, Snarky Puppy). In 2017, Tommy joined the Instrumental program at Urbandale High School directing concert band, jazz band, marching band + musical theatre pit orchestra. Prior to Urbandale High School, Tommy taught at Woodward Academy, Central College, South Western Community College, Davis + Elkins College, The College of Mount St. Joseph, The School for the Creative + Performing Arts in Cincinnati, OH, Hiram College, Kent State University, Ohio University-Zanesville, + Muskingum University.
