Last minute summer jams

I love playing music in any shape and form. Honestly, it's all I want to do. I'll be attending two jams next week that will surely be special.

I’ve been asked to join a beautiful event: Sound Healing Improv Jam on Wednesday July 8 at 7pm @xbklive Annex hosted by @todd_partridge  Todd has hosted these events in Europe and America and the results are beautiful. The unique aspect to this jam is that the instruments are tuned to A432Hz. If you know tunings, A440 is common and A442 is almost a standard with some ensembles going up to A450. A432 is sometimes called Baroque Tuning in Western Classical music but in my own research, I have found that many musical instruments were tuned lower in the past. My saxophone won’t properly get down to A432 by my wind synth will. It’s been a while since I’ve played it live, so please join us for a beautiful evening of music. Take a listen to previous jams at www.activate432.com

And the most logical thing I've seen on the internet today, BYOBrass inviting you to Bring Your Own Brass to the Des Moines Farmer's Market on Saturday July 11 between 10 and 11am. In their words, "We're leaning into our name and inviting YOU to BRING YOUR OWN and sit in on a few tunes with us!" If you're interested, and I hope some of my students do this, please RSVP and then pick a tune. It's best to memorize it because this is a movin' and groovin' band that doesn't know how to sit still...but there will be some music stands there.

Stay cool during this hot weather. Thanks for reading and listening. Look out for each other.
