Some of my current and former students have a band together called Run Wilson. When they told me they were going to record a second album, they asked me if I'd be willing to play on a song. "Of course!" I said. I documented the experience on this VLOG
The horn arrangements were written by my friend, colleague, and father of the drummer, Dana Andrews. I'm playing on the tracks Fade You Out and Sparkling. The two songs really show off the two sides of the band. Fade You Out is in the pocket and lazy like a summer day. Sparkling is dense with texture and full of energy.
The band has been venturing out lately playing shows across the state. I'll be joining them in Des Moines at the Gas Lamp on Friday May 14.
