October is here and it finally stopped raining in Des Moines. I've got two public shows this month, one wedding with BYOBrass, and you can hear me every Sunday morning on KFMG!

I've always been a fan of the trio because it asks the question: what can you do with this? A friend of mine used to tell me that if you have three musical elements, you have everything you need. I think he's right. For many months, the songs for Lines + Lineage existed as saxophone, bass, and metronome. Now that the album has been out for three years and I've done shows as a quartet and quintet, it's fun to return to the original setting. Joining me for the evening was Ben Mars on bass and Cam Schneider on drums. Photos by Adam Orgler.
